RABDARGAB. 2010.
Far from a newcomer to the Houston rap scene, Fat Tony has accomplished a lot and is only climbing higher with each show he plays (which is damn near daily), performing tracks off of his debut “RABDARGAB.” Opening up for the likes of Snoop Dogg, Mobb Deep, Slim Thug and Das Racist, whom he also collaborated with. With an incredible work ethic and a relentless work schedule, Tony shows no signs of slowing down and he’s only getting started.
Fat Tony Vs. Digital Wax
Q: First thing’s first, introduce yourself to the cats that ain’t in the know!
Wuz up… Wuz up.. Wuz up!!!!!!!!!! Hi, I am Fat Tony. Houston based Nigerian-American musician. I rap real, real good usually over beats produced by Tom Cruz, Jamaican-American nigga based in NY now but raised in Atlanta. My debut album RABDARGAB came out last October. Got 2 songs coming out on a single soon. “Good While It Lasted” b/w “Bad Habits” ft. Bun B (UGK) & Nick Diamonds (Mister Heavenly / Islands / The Unicorns). I love my life and yours too. I suggest er’body do the same. I love rum and fun. Pizza, burgers, and tacos too. Horror movies and comedy. Girls and money. Good art and warm beds for long sleeping.
Q: I never thought Fat Tony enjoyed sleep, you’re always busy playing shows and such. What drives you to stay so busy all the time? I get bored easy and love attention; the foundation of any performance oriented artist. I like to travel and meet new people. Playing shows can be really fun when you’ve got interests like that. I do it for the thrill. The money too. And always for the possibility of exciting a Fat Tony fan and making new ones.
Q: Pirates Vs. Ninjas, who would win? I’m a ninja fan myself. Brains over brawn. All this and brains too.
Q: How did you meet your DJ, iPod Ammo? I was Vice President of Black Student Union (BSU) @ University of St. Thomas in Houston. The president LeDarrin booked him for our annual springtime party the Crawfish Boil back in 2007… maybe 2008? But I think it was 2007. And niggas been kickin’ it ever since.
Q: What inspired you to write “Nigga U ain’t fat”? I wrote it cause I hear “nigga you aint fat” and various questions about the name Fat Tony every time I play anywhere ever. It’s a never-ending question I thought the song would answer very well but I feel I may hear inquiries about my name ‘til the end of time. I also wanted to go in a lil bit on my past and the social & emotional grade school hardships of being a fat boy I’ve faced all my life. I rep for fat kids and former fat kids worldwide that never got their just desserts but always had dessert.
Q: What’s next for Fat Tony? Next step for Fat Tony is a couple tours from now til November including the BLACK AMERIKKKA TOUR 2K11 w/ B L A C K I E going through the south, midwest, east coast, and Montreal for Pop Montreal festival. Plus Texas leg of the RELAX tour w/ Das Racist, Danny Brown, and Despot. Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 too. Got some songs done and projects in mind. Just looking for best way to release it all ASAP.
Q: Will you ever do a track with Gucci Mane? Who knows… Gucci like to drink, Gucci like to smoke… Bitch, I might be. Q: What’s the best place to grub in Houston? My fav H-Town food is always the classics like Pappadeaux, Frenchy’s, and Whataburger. I love Van Loc, Quan Yin (vegan), Luigi’s Pizza, and Tacos A Go Go too. And my mama house.
Q: Any final words to the readers? If you dont have fun, then life wont be fun. Be yourself, work hard, and stay positive to the core core core. Good feelings attract good results for all ya good goals.
Get at Tony mane!

RABDARGAB: #4 out of 10
“The guy after whom they renamed the Houston Press Best Underground Rapper award after (it’s now called The Obi) claims fourth with RABDARGAB, his compelling, ambitious if not altogether adventurous debut outing. There wasn’t one other album this year that had a stronger three song set than the first three songs here (“Nigga U Ain’t Fat”; “Rap Babies”; “Luv It, Mayne”). Overweight Anthony is a growing force.”
Right above Bun B’s Trill O.G. album at #5. Thank you.
Shoutout to everyone that made this year’s list! New Houston rap niggas galore.

LISDARGAB
RABDARGAB is a reference to Fat Tony’s childhood in the Houston Indepedent School District. The term was a campaign to promote literacy in school by offering little bad ass kids money. The term originally stood for Read a Book, Do a Report, Get a Buck.
In honor of little kids getting money worldwide, Fat Tony introduces LISDARGAB. Listen to the album, write a report/review, email it to fattonyrap@gmail.com and post it to your blog/Tumblr/Facebook/website/etc. including a link to fattonyrap.com, and Fat Tony will mail you a $1 bill.

3 years in the making. This album is a testament to my adolescence.
Filled with tales of my aspirations, my woes, being wasted and stranded, lust gone wrong, love gone right, smoking out with Asian Girls listening to Let It Be (The Replacements, not The Beatles), being annoyed by Hip Hop people, being bad (bad meaning bad not bad meaning good), why I am “Fat” Tony, growing up on rap, and loving it, mayne.
Written 2007 - 2010.
Recorded 2008 - 2010 in Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia.

“For Sit Down, Man Das Racist has enlisted superproducers Diplo, Boi-1da, Scoop Deville, Devo Springsteen and Dame Grease as well as collaborations with El-P, Despot, Roc Marciano, Keepaway, Teengirl Fantasy, Chairlift and Vijay Iyer to make this one of the hottest projects of the year by one of the most sought after unsigned acts in recent years. But enough talk out of me, just download this thing already. You’re gonna love it!” - Mishka blog
New Das Racist album/mixtape/collection of songs entitled Sit Down, Man out today. Catch my man Tom Cruz, producer of my upcoming album RABDARGAB, and myself on the Das Racist remix of “Luv It Mayne” from the RABDARGAB album also featuring Bo. P on the chorus.
The whole record is hot I’ve been bangin it out since Sunday. Feels like a different vibe than their last album Shut Up, Dude. Less clearly silly songs, more great subtly silly rappity rap rap. Got a lot of big name producers and collaborators too so you know it’s gotta be good. Even Diplo co-signed it.
