Screwed in Houston - Music World - VICE
Today’s bubblegum rap may rule the charts, but at VICE we prefer our beats harder and more innovative. Follow along as we head south to the Third Coast to groove on one of the most original rap scenes ever realized. Houston is a city defined by its geography—low and slow, hot and hard, bayous and parking lots spreading for endless flat suburban miles. But a lack of citywide zoning creates pockets of distinct communities within Houston’s sprawl, and in these unofficially cordoned-off neighborhoods, Dirty Southern rap was born.

Thanks so much for saying “luv it mayne” so well. U killed everything u did in ur time. Never will forget the day my mom picked me up from school, took me to Whataburger and told me she just heard on 97.9 The Boxx about your murder. He’s part of the dead at 27 Club too. The world is an evil place for good men.

Really want a Nintendo 3DS just to play this - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D - better known as my favorite video game of all-time aka the best video game of all-time no matter what anyone has released before (and will release in the future). Perfect in every way from story to music to gameplay and more. So good I’ve bought the game twice for Nintendo 64.
When I bought this game I didn’t give a fuck about RPGs. Never played Zelda or a single RPG that ever excited me. But I asked for this game for Christmas one year cause of all the glowing reviews it was getting worldwide and I’ve never been the same since. I had played video games for years at that point but never knew what it was like to be truly immersed in the experience ‘til I touched this game. Thank you, granny.
This new Pokemon game looking kinda ill too. And Super Street Fighter II on 3DS is a beast. The 3DS plus this Zelda game is about $300 and I think it’ll be well worth it.
Anybody feeling the Christmas in July spirit?

Bun B x 8ball & mjg Rap City interview
@dopeassflicks just killing it.
Real rap niggas choppin it up in Houston’s 97.9 The Boxx radio station live for BET Rap City. Back in the era where Houston was the mecca for southern rap music. Just listen to how so many rap stars from all-around were rolling through regularly and some even living here. Seeing footage like this is what makes me proud to be born & raised in the biggest city in the Lone Star state.
